APPLIES TO

SUMMARY

Works cannot directly import or preview files created in Excel 3.x. This is by design.

Works can directly open files created in Excel versions 4.0. Works version 3.0 for Windows can also open Excel 3.0 files if the files are saved in a .WKS format.

MORE INFORMATION

Works will automatically open the Excel 3.x file as a tab-delimited text file in the Word Processor. Furthermore, garbled text will be displayed when the file is previewed in the File Organizer wizard.

Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a do not contain the File Organizer wizard.
