The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 3.0, 3.0a, 4.0 - Microsoft Project for Macintosh version 3.0

SUMMARY

If you use the Multiple Task Edit Form on a selection of tasks that includes blank rows, the blank rows will become tasks with default duration and schedule information.

To avoid creating tasks out of the blank rows, filter the project to show only created tasks and then use the Multiple Task Edit form to make your changes.

MORE INFORMATION

To create a task filter that will show only non-blank tasks in your project, do the following:

  1. From the Filter menu, choose Define Filters.

  2. Choose the New button.

  3. In the name field, type the name “Without Blank Rows” (without the quotation marks).

  4. Enter the following criteria for the filter:

    Field Name Test Value(s) ————————————————

Unique ID Gtr or Equal 1

  5. Choose OK and then choose Set.

This will show a list of created tasks and will exclude blank lines between tasks.
