SYMPTOMS
Word version 6.0 for Windows will not open a Lotus 1-2-3 version 4.0 file.
CAUSE
Word 6.0 supports conversion of Lotus 1-2-3 versions 2.0, 2.2, and 3.0 file formats only.
RESOLUTION
From Lotus 1-2-3 version 4.0, save your 4.0 file in Lotus 1-2-3 version 2.0, 2.2, or 3.0 file format and then open the file in Word.
