Determining the Version of Encarta PSS ID Number: Q107594 Article last modified on 09-13-1994 PSS database name: HOMETOOL

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for Windows, version 3.0 - Microsoft Encarta, 1994 edition

The Multimedia Edition of Works for Windows version 3.0 will integrate with the 1994 edition of Encarta.

To determine which version of Encarta you own, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Take the CD out of the drive and see what version is written on the disk. If it is Encarta 1994, “1994 edition” will be displayed on the CD.

Method 2

  1. Double-click the Encarta icon to start the program.
  2. On the Title screen it will say “1994 edition” in the lower-left corner. In the lower-right corner, it will have a button that says “Enter Encarta.” If you have four buttons at the bottom of the screen, then you do not have Encarta 1994.
