SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following error message after you log on to a Windows NT machine:

Cannot find file LDBWCC specified in WIN.INI (or one of its components)...

CAUSE

LDBWCC.EXE is a TSR that needs to be loaded before running Fax Manager for Windows. If Fax Manager for Windows is unable to locate the file LDBWCC.EXE you will receive the above error message.

RESOLUTION

During Fax Manager for Windows Setup, LDBWCC is added as a parameter to the LOAD statement in the following path:

   HKEY\CURRENT\USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOW NT\CURRENTVERSION\WINDOWS

The Fax Manager directory (FMWIN by default) is also appended to the path statement in AUTOEXEC.BAT file if you choose to do so during installation.

Verify the load statement reads load=lbwcc (including any previous parameters separated by spaces) and the Fax Manager for Windows directory in present in the PATH by typing PATH the command prompt. If it is not present, edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and append the directory to the path statement.

-or-

Specify the exact location of the LDBWCC.EXE file on the load line; that is, load=c:\fmwin\ldbwcc
