SUMMARY
Microsoft has tested Works for MS-DOS version 3.0 with Novell NetWare versions 2.x and 3.x and all versions of Microsoft LAN Manager). Because Works 3.0 has not been tested with other network software, it is directly supported only on the versions mentioned above.
MORE INFORMATION
In particular, running Works for MS-DOS on either a non-dedicated server or a peer-to-peer network, such as Windows for Workgroups or Novell NetWare Lite, is not supported.
NOTE: Although Works is not officially supported in a non-dedicated or peer- to-peer environment, it should function correctly as long as a Works session is not activated on the server station.
