SYMPTOMS

If more than 510 fonts are installed in your system, the following error message occurs when you start Works for Windows:

More than 510 fonts in the system.
Reduce the number of fonts or else the display may be Incorrect.

Under Windows NT, if you exit Works for Windows and restart the program after receiving this error message, you may receive the following error message:

Application Execution Error
Insufficient memory to run this application.
Quit one or more Windows applications and then try again.

(NOTE: This second error message should not occur with Windows 3.1.)

In Windows NT and Windows 3.1, Works for Windows will still start, but will display only the first 510 fonts in the font dialog box.

RESOLUTION

To correct the problem, disable the TrueType fonts or reduce the number of fonts installed on your system.

To disable TrueType fonts

  1. From the Control Panel, select the Font icon.
  2. Choose the TrueType button.
  3. Clear the Enable TrueType Fonts check box.
  4. Choose OK and restart Windows.

To remove fonts from the system

  1. From the Control Panel, select the Font icon.
  2. Highlight a font or a series of fonts.
  3. Choose the Remove button.

NOTE: You do not have to delete the font files from the hard drive.
