SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start the network redirector, connect to a network drive, printer, or any other network device, the following error message may be displayed:
CAUSE
The "Network Busy" error message is usually caused by some type of hardware problem; it is rarely caused by the network being busy. Below are the most common causes of this error message:
- Interrupt (IRQ) conflict
- I/O address conflict
- RAM address conflict
- DMA conflict
- Hub/Concentrator/Bridge/Router problem
- Problem with another computer on the network
- Disconnected or faulty cabling, connectors, or terminators
- Faulty network card (on the local or a remote computer)
- Incorrect Transceiver Type selection
- Duplicate computer name on network
- Incorrect network interface card (NIC) driver
