XL: Debug Window Appears Behind Floating Toolbars Until Moved

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, when you open the Debug window, any floating toolbars that occupy the same area of the screen will appear in front of the Debug window. This is standard window behavior in Microsoft Excel. However, when you move, size, or click the title bar of the Debug window, it will cover any floating toolbars that occupy the same area of the screen.

Standard windows always remain behind floating toolbars in Microsoft Excel. When you open the Debug window in a Visual Basic module, either by choosing Debug Window from the View menu or by stepping through a subroutine, it exhibits the standard window behavior by appearing behind any floating toolbars. However, when you move, size, or click the title bar of the Debug window, it no longer behaves like a standard window but will cover any floating toolbars that occupy the same area of the screen.

To display the Debug window on top of any floating toolbars that are in front of it, click the title bar of the Debug window.

To display the Debug window behind floating toolbars that occupy the same area of the screen, close the Debug window and reopen it. If you don't want the Debug window to appear in front of the floating toolbars, do not click the title bar when you work with the Debug window.

Note that although you can minimize or maximize the standard windows, you cannot do this with the Debug window.
