This information applies to both Microsoft DoubleSpace and Microsoft DriveSpace. For MS-DOS 6.22, use DRVSPACE in place of DBLSPACE for commands and filenames.

SYMPTOMS

When you run MS-DOS-based applications on a Compaq Prolinea 4/33 with a VGA monitor, the screen may flash.

CAUSE

Compaq has confirmed that a defective system board may not allow MS-DOS-based applications to access some VGA-specific functions, which can result in flashing and other unpredictable behavior.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, contact Compaq for a replacement motherboard.
