Word 2.x Custom Toolbar Does Not Display in Word 6.0

SUMMARY

In Word 6.0, if you open a Word 2.x template that contains a custom toolbar, Word does not customize the Standard toolbar. Instead, Word defines a separate Word 2.0 toolbar, and you must select it in the View Toolbars dialog box to display it.

In Word 2.x, only one toolbar is supported. In Word 6.0, where multiple toolbars are supported, the Word 2.x toolbar is treated as a separate, custom toolbar.
