SYMPTOMS
You may experience data corruption when you use TCP/IP. This only occurs if a reserved, six-bit range in the packet header is used by an application. If any of these bits are set to one, Windows NT TCP/IP miscalculates the length of the data in the packet by several bytes.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
