PRA: Computer Hangs When Relationships Box Is Displayed

SYMPTOMS


Your computer stops responding (hangs) when you attempt to maximize a previously minimized application if Microsoft Access has the focus and its Relationships box is displayed.

STATUS


Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 2.0.

Steps to Reproduce Problem


  1. Start Windows File Manager, then minimize it.
  2. Start Microsoft Access and size the window so that you can see the File Manager icon at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Open any database. From the Edit menu, choose Relationships to display the Relationships box.
  4. Maximize File Manager by double-clicking the icon.

    Result: The control menu of the Relationship box opens and your computer hangs. To regain control, you must reboot.
