PRB: Collating Sequence <ExpC> Not Found

ID: Q104263

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, version 2.5a
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, version 2.5a

SYMPTOMS

Issuing the SET COLLATE TO <expC> command results in error 1915 "Collation sequence <expC> not found."

CAUSE

This error message can occur when:

  • The collation sequence is not supported by the code page, such as issuing SET COLLATE TO "RUSSIAN" when the CODEPAGE=1250.
  • FOXPRO.INT is not found in the FoxPro directory or in the MS-DOS path. FOXPRO.INT must be present to take advantage of certain collation sequences and code pages.

    NOTE: When using a FoxPro executable file, FOXPRO.INT also needs to be in the same directory as the .EXE file.

RESOLUTION

To determine the current code page, use the following commands:

   DISPLAY STATUS or ?CPCURRENT()

Additional reference words: FoxDos FoxWin 2.50a sort codepage KBCategory: kbprg kberrmsg kbprb KBSubcategory: FxprgIntl
