Q104176
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server version 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 3.1
- Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server, version 3.1
SYMPTOMS
Under Windows NT, when you switch an application between full screen and restoring it to its previous size, the mouse may appear to jump around the screen.
CAUSE
Windows NT maintains two separate mouse positions. One in full screen mode and another in the "windowed" mode. As a result, switching between an application between full screen and returning it to its previous size causes the mouse to "jump" between two positions when the mouse isn't moved.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1 and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
