SUMMARY

After Dark version 2.0a and 2.0c does not work correctly under Windows NT. The After Dark setup program works properly. However, when the screen saver activates, it may take several minutes before it reponds to keyboard or mouse activity.

Disabling After Dark

To disable After Dark, you need to modify the Registry. Perform the following procedure:

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.

  1. Start Registry Editor and go to the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT \CurrentVersion\Windows

  2. Select the Load value.
  3. From the Edit menu, choose String.
  4. In the String field, remove AD.EXE and ADINIT.EXE, and then choose the OK button.
