SUMMARY
When you use using the Microsoft compilers that are listed in the Applies To section and the linker is called by the compiler by specifying the /c switch, the first folder in which the compiler searches for Link.exe after the compiler looks in the current folder is the folder that Cl.exe was found in. If Link.exe is not found in the same folder as Cl.exe, the folders that are specified by the PATH environment variable are searched.
