Excel: Can't Use WORKBOOK.ACTIVATE() to Unhide Document

Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q103782

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 4.0, 4.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0

Page 460 of the version 4.0 "Function Reference" states that the WORKBOOK.ACTIVATE() function "...unhides the document if it is hidden, or restores the document if it is minimized."

This statement is incorrect. The WORKBOOK.ACTIVATE() function does not unhide the document if it is hidden; this function only restores the document if it is minimized.

To unhide a workbook document, use the UNHIDE() function.
