TrueType Fonts Print with Vertical Gaps on Dot-Matrix Printers

SYMPTOMS

If you print a TrueType font on a dot-matrix printer that does not support the 240 x 144 resolution setting, the TrueType characters may print with vertical gaps in them.



WORKAROUND

To avoid this incorrect printed output, switch to the 120 x 144 resolution setting.

Microsoft has reproduced this problem using the following printer drivers:

Epson FX-85
IBM Proprinter

You may experience this problem on other dot-matrix printers, such as the Diconix 180si, if the printer emulates one of the printers listed above.
