SUMMARY

Word for Windows does not retain the Sort Files By setting (in the Find File Options dialog box) between Word sessions. When you exit Word, this setting reverts to the default Name setting.

To access the Sort Files By option, choose Find File from the File menu, then choose the Options button.

By contrast, Word retains the List File Names With setting, also in the Find File Options dialog box, between Word sessions.
