PUB2: Address May Not Fit on Business Card PageWizard

PUB2: Address May Not Fit on Business Card PageWizard

Q103699

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a
-------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When you run the Business Card & Paper PageWizard, the entire address
may not fit in the resulting address field on the business card. Part
of the address may be in the overflow area. This occurs if you enter
the maximum number of characters and many of them are very wide (such
as a capital letter "m"). The first line may wrap to the second line,
forcing the text that was originally on the second line into the
overflow area. The business card prints as it appears on the screen.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher versions 2.0 and
2.0a. This problem was corrected in Publisher version 3.0 for Windows 95.

RESOLUTION
==========

To work around this problem, try one or all of the following:

 - Format the address text in a smaller font.

 - Ungroup the business card object and try stretching the text frame
   slightly to allow more characters to fit on a single line.

 - Where possible, use abbreviations.
