SUMMARY

If you change your video driver to an incompatible driver and then log on at the Out Of Synchronization screen, the Last Known Good Configuration will not work.

If you don't have the Emergency Repair disk available, you can still recover and get back to the Standard VGA driver by doing the following:

  1. Restart the system and go through the logon routine.
  2. When Program Manager appears, do the following:
    • Press ALT+F
    • Press R
    • Type setup
    • Press ENTER and wait for setup to check the hardware
    • Press ALT+O
    • Press C
    • Press ALT+D
    • Press PAGE UP 10 times <Maximum of 20 times>
    • Press TAB 3 times <press enter>
    • Press ENTER again
    • Press ALT+F4
    • Press ENTER
    • Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
    • Press TAB 2 times
    • Press ENTER
    • Press TAB 2 times
    • Press SPACEBAR
    • Press ENTERX
