Microsoft Corporate Support has now established a support server on the Internet that contains materials for Windows NT, LAN Manager, Mail, and SQL products. The server has Knowledge Base articles, selected patches and fixes, documentation, drivers, and marketing information.

The name of the server is FTP.MICROSOFT.COM and the IP address is 198.105.232.1. Customers can FTP to it, logging on as “anonymous” with their full Internet email name as the password.

The tree structure is:

CS - |– lanman - | | – docs (assorted documentation) | | | | – kb (knowledge base articles and index) | | | | – mrktg (marketing information) | | | | – sup-ed (supported drivers and utilities) | | | | – unsup-ed (unsupported drivers and utilities) | | |– mail (etc.) | |– sqlsrvr (etc.) | |– winnt (etc.) | |– ODBC (etc.)

Information screens are displayed when you enter major directories, and further details are often available in README.TXT files. This server is not on the Microsoft Corporate network, so it contains no confidential or proprietary information.

If you experience difficulty obtaining information from this machine, please email the appropriate alias from the list below. This is not a support alias and we may not be able to send individual replies to mail.
