Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q103453

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 4.0 for the Macintosh, if you are working with a version 2.2 Microsoft Excel file that contains a combination of the CHOOSE() and WEEKDAY() functions, such as =CHOOSE(WEEKDAY(),), and you attempt to resave the document in the version 2.2 file format, you will receive the following error message:

   Cannot write record (Cell: A2)
   Continue reporting each error?

WORKAROUND

To work around this situation, place the WEEKDAY() function in a separate cell and refer to that cell with the CHOOSE() function.
