MergePRD Error Messages When Adding TrueType Font Support

PSS ID Number: Q103351 Article last modified on 11-03-1994

====================================================================== 6.00 MS-DOS kbother

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Word for MS-DOS MergePRD utility to add TrueType font support to your printer driver, error messages such as the following may occur if your TrueType font file does not adhere to TrueType font file specifications:

Table Missing.

Error reading offset table entry.

After the error messages, MergePRD continues and appears to add the TrueType font support, but the resulting .PRF file is incomplete and MergePRD does not add the TrueType font to the printer driver (.PRD) file.

CAUSE

MergePRD searches for information in the TrueType font file. If the information is not in the correct location, MergePRD does not add the TrueType font to the printer driver.

RESOLUTION

You should contact the provider of the TrueType font file for assistance or additional information.
