Abstract

This article describes the procedure for making your current Microsoft Win16 applications compatible with Win32 and Win32s. It discusses makefile issues, source code changes, and macros (message crackers and message forwarders) that you can add to your code to facilitate the porting process. For Microsoft OnLine customers, HARDWAY.RTF is available in the Software/Data Library as 10X88.ZIP and can be found by searching on the word HARDWAY.RTF, the Q number of this article, or S14217. For CompuServe Customers, HARDWAY.RTF can be downloaded from the file 10-88.ZIP in library section number 10 of the MSDNLIB forum. HARDWAY.RTF was archived using the PKware file-compression utility.
