With Windows NT or Windows NT Advanced Server, you can change your password in another Advanced Server domain, a Windows NT local database, or a LAN Manager domain without logging on to that domain.
To change a password in a different domain or on a remote machine, use the following procedure:
- Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
- Choose Change Password.
- In the From box, type the remote machine name or domain name.
- In the Old Password box, type your old password.
- Type your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes.
An information dialog box then appears confirming your password was changed.
MORE INFORMATION
The NET PASSWORD command is not present in the version of NET.EXE included with Windows NT. Therefore, the password cannot be changed at the command line as was possible with Microsoft Windows for Workgroups and Microsoft LAN Manager.
