The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Publisher version 2.0

SYMPTOMS
========

When you copy text or an object in Publisher and then choose Paste
Special from the Edit menu, the source is listed as either "Unknown
Source" or "\". When you choose different formats, Publisher does not
update the description in the Source field.

If you copy text from inside Publisher, the source is listed as
"Unknown Source." If you copy an embedded object from inside
Publisher, or text from Word for Windows, the source is listed as "\".

The Source field in the Paste Special dialog box should update when
you choose different formats, and give a brief description for each of
the different types, instead of listing "Unknown Source" or "\" for
each one.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher version 2.0.
This problem was corrected in Publisher version 2.0a for Windows.
