Corel40 Disks and CD-ROMs Will Not Install CorelDRAW Correctly

SYMPTOMS

Using the early release disks and CD-ROMs for Corel40, you cannot install CorelDRAW if the following is true:

  • You have only one floppy drive. -and-


  • You attempt to install CorelDRAW to the last logical drive in your configuration (that is, to drive D if you have drives C and D).


CAUSE

The Setup program on certain Corel40 disks and CD-ROMs contains a defect.

RESOLUTION

Using the WinDisk utility, create an extended partition and assign the next available drive letter to it (in the example above, E).

Setup programs on disks and CD-ROMs dated after 7/20/93 should no longer contain this defect.
