SYMPTOMS

If you perform a spelling check operation by running the ToolsSpelling command in a Word for Windows macro and correct a misspelled word in a footnote, your computer may hang (stop responding) or a general protection (GP) fault may occur if you edit the corrected word in the footnote after the spelling check is complete.

This does not happen if you run the spelling checker by choosing Spelling from the Tools menu.
