SYMPTOMS
========

Microsoft Publisher allows you to perform a network workstation
installation of a shared copy of Publisher by running Setup with the
appropriate command line switch:

   setup.exe /n

When you run this command from Program Manager or File Manager, it
works fine; however, the following error message is generated when
this command is run from an MS-DOS command prompt:

   This program requires Microsoft Windows

A stand-alone installation or network administrator installation of
Publisher will run from MS-DOS by automatically launching Windows.
This problem only occurs when doing a network workstation installation
of a shared copy of Publisher.

WORKAROUND
==========

Run the workstation installation from either Program Manager or File
Manager.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
