Windows NT Fails to See a CD-ROM Drive

SYMPTOMS

If you have two IBM SCSI adapters, with the boot drive on one adapter and a CD-ROM on the other adapter, Windows NT Setup does not see the CD-ROM drive.



CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a hardware problem with the IBM SCSI adapters.



WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, put the CD-ROM on the same SCSI adapter as the boot drive or use another brand of SCSI adapter.
