Q101919
------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a ------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== When you format text for both small capitals and superscript or subscript, the small capital letters are aligned to a different baseline than the lowercase letters. In both subscript and superscript text, characters formatted as small capitals are aligned slightly higher. This alignment difference does not occur with text that is not formatted as either superscript or subscript. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher versions 2.0 and 2.0a. This problem was corrected in Publisher version 3.0 for Windows 95. MORE INFORMATION ================ Steps to Reproduce Problem -------------------------- 1. Create a text frame and type some text. 2. Select half the text. From the Format menu, choose Character. Under Super/Subscript, select Superscript and choose OK. 3. Select the other half of the text. From the Format menu, choose Character. Under Super/Subscript, select Subscript and choose OK. 4. Select half of the superscript text. From the Format menu, choose Character, select Small Capitals, and choose OK. Repeat this step with the subscript text. 5. Use a close-up view (be selecting the Zoom Indicator box) to display the text in a view large enough so you can see the alignment differences between the lowercase and small capital characters. In both the superscript and subscript sections of text, the characters formatted as small capitals are aligned slightly higher.
