Can’t Use COMMAND+OPTION+PLUS SIGN with Earlier Mac Keyboards

SYMPTOMS
The Assign To Key shortcut keys, COMMAND+OPTION+PLUS SIGN (on the numeric keypad), do not work with some of the earlier versions of the Apple Macintosh keyboard. This problem applies to the add-on numeric keypad used with the keyboard that shipped with the Macintosh 128K and 512K and may also occur with some Macintosh Plus computers that are updated versions of 128K and 512K computers.
WORKAROUND
To assign key combinations to commands, glossaries, and so on, use the Commands command:
- From the Tools menu (the Edit menu in Word 4.0), choose Commands.
- From the list of commands, select the command, glossary entry, font name, and so on, for which you want to create a key combination.
- In the Keys section, click add.
- When prompted, enter the desired key combination.
- Close the Commands dialog box.
Note that the minimum hardware requirement for Word 5.0 or 5.1 is a Macintosh Plus.
