Page Number Prints in Wrong Font Instead of TrueType Font

PSS ID Number: Q101841 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

====================================================================== 6.00 MS-DOS kbprint

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

If you format the Page Number character style for a TrueType font, the page number does not print in that TrueType font unless text elsewhere in your document is formatted for that TrueType font. Word for MS-DOS prints the page number, but it prints in the wrong font.

For example, if you format the Page Number style for Arial but no other text in your document is formatted for the Arial font, Word uses a different font to print the page number.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in version 6.0 of Word for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Format a paragraph mark in your document for the TrueType font you want to use in the Page Number character style.
