SUMMARY

Word version 6.0 is the first version of Word for MS-DOS to support TrueType fonts. Word version 6.0 supports the TrueType fonts supplied with Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1 and from the Microsoft TrueType Font Pack for Windows 1 and 2. You can add TrueType font support to your Word printer driver files using the MergePRD utility supplied with Word. For information about installing TrueType fonts and adding TrueType font support to your printer drivers, use the following resources:

  • “How to use the Microsoft TrueType Font Pack with Word 6.0”: This 5.5-by-8.5-inch card is included in your Word 6.0 retail package (0493 part no. 51744).

  • TRUETYPE.DOC: This document is supplied with Word 6.0. Setup copies this file to your Word program directory.

  • Microsoft Knowledge Base: For information on installing TrueType fonts if you do not have Windows version 3.1 on your computer, query on the following words in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
