Excel: Two Help Buttons in Page Setup and Print
Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q101468
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0
SYMPTOMS
Although the Page Setup and Print dialog boxes for most printers contain a single Help button, when you use the Apple LaserWriter driver version 8.0, two Help buttons will be displayed in the Page Setup and Print dialog boxes.
Page Setup Dialog Box
In the Page Setup dialog box, the Help button directly below the Options button is the Apple printer driver Help button. The Help button directly above the Header button is the Microsoft Excel Help button.
Print Dialog Box
In the Print dialog box, the Help button directly below the Options button is the Apple printer driver Help button. The Help button that is to the right of the Print Using Color check box is the Microsoft Excel Help button.
CAUSE
Version 8.0 of the LaserWriter driver introduced several new features. One of these features is a Help button that applies to general driver questions. Since Microsoft Excel redraws the standard Page Setup and Print dialog boxes to add its own Help button, two buttons appear.
RESOLUTION
This feature is by design.
This problem does not occur in versions of Microsoft Excel earlier than version 4.0 because there are no Help buttons in the specified dialog boxes. In earlier versions of Microsoft Excel, only a single Help button will appear.
MORE INFORMATION
The Apple LaserWriter driver version 8.0 is not currently shipped with Macintosh computers. To obtain a copy of this driver, contact your local Apple dealer.
