If you cut or copy two or more scaled pictures that are separated by an inch or more, and paste them as a picture, the scaled images may be distorted or may end up outside the picture frame.

If the picture frame conceals all or part of the images, you can uncrop it to reveal the hidden portions.

If the images are distorted or stretched, you can either reproportion the graphic or copy the graphics separately.

This problem does not occur if you copy and paste individual graphics as pictures.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. From the File menu, choose Import Picture and choose APPLE2.CGM.
  2. With the picture selected, choose Scale Picture from the Format menu.
  3. Scale the picture to 10 percent by 10 percent and choose OK.
  4. Copy and paste the graphic so that you have two instances of it. Position them so they are lined up vertically, and approximately three inches apart.
  5. Select both the images, and from the Edit menu choose Copy.
  6. From the Edit menu, choose Paste Special. Select Picture and choose OK.

The resulting frame is about the correct size, but the graphic on the left is stretched to almost twice its original width, and the graphic on the right is actually outside the frame.

The distortion and cropping of the resulting picture may vary depending on how much the original graphics were scaled and how far apart they were. The distortion is worse if the graphics are scaled more and are positioned farther apart.
