SUMMARY
Running DEFRAG /B on a DoubleSpace-compressed drive does not restart your computer after the files have been reorganized.

The /B switch for DEFRAG.EXE normally restarts your computer when the Defragmenter (Defrag) has completed reorganizing the files. However, this is true only if the host drive (or any uncompressed MS-DOS FAT drive) is defragmented. When the Defrag is run on a DoubleSpace- compressed drive, you are returned to either the MS-DOS command prompt or the Defragmenter user interface after your files are reorganized.
When you defragment a DoubleSpace-compressed drive with DEFRAG.EXE, Defrag runs DBLSPACE /DEFRAGMENT when it has completed. The /B switch is not an available option with DBLSPACE /DEFRAGMENT; therefore, the machine does not restart after running DBLSPACE /DEFRAGMENT.
