The information in this article applies to:
BUG# 8902 (4.2) SYMPTOMSWhen loading an ASCII terminated file with the Bulk Copy Program (BCP) version 4.2, defaults on TEXT datatypes are ignored. Instead, NULL is inserted into the text column instead of the default that is bound to that column and/or datatype for that column. WORKAROUNDThe following two options avoid the problem:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server versions 4.2 and 4.2a for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. |
