WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c

Summary:

The picture of a block letter on page 711 of the Word for Windows “User’s Guide” incorrectly indicates that the LETBLOCK template inserts a header that contains the addressee name, company, date, and page number on the second and subsequent pages of multiple-page letters. The LETBLOCK template does not insert the company data, but it does insert the ACCT/DOC# data. The header appears as follows in a letter based on the LETBLOCK template:

Addressee Date ACCT/DOC# Page

More Information:

If you create a multiple-page document using the LETBLOCK template, a Second Page Header dialog box appears when you print the document the first time. In the Second Page Header dialog box, you can modify the Name and ACCT/DOC# data that the template inserts in the header on second and subsequent pages. The dialog box does not request Company data or use it in the header.

Workaround

If you want the company name to appear in the header of your letter, type the name of the company in place of the ACCT/DOC# data in the Second Page Header dialog box.
