PRB: Browse Window Not Part of READ MODAL

ID: Q101047

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5 and 2.5a
  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.0, 2.5, and 2.5a

SUMMARY

In a modal READ, if the title of the Browse window is different than the database name, both the title of the Browse window and the database name must be specified in the associated window listing; otherwise, the memo field will not open when it is double-clicked or when CTRL+PAGE DOWN is pressed.

MORE INFORMATION

A modal READ restricts the windows that can participate in the READ to those in the associated windows list, shown in the .SPR clause as a READ MODAL WITH.

A Browse window normally takes on the title of the database but has the option of having a title specified; however, the memo field would retain the name of the database. Therefore, both names must be in the associated windows list.
