Open Source and Update Options Unavailable for Internal Link

Last reviewed: July 30, 1997
Article ID: Q100959

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c

SUMMARY

When you create an internal link using an INCLUDE or an INCLUDEPICTURE field within a Word for Windows document, the Open Source button and the Automatic and Manual update options are unavailable in the Edit Links dialog box.

These items are not available because the Open Source feature and the update options are designed for use with OLE and DDE communications. An INCLUDE or an INCLUDEDPICTURE field does not use OLE or DDE, so these features are not applicable.
