SUMMARY

When using the “&D” code to represent the print date in a Microsoft Project header, footer, or legend, the date is always printed in the “x/x/x” format, where “/” represents the preference setting for the date separator character. The month/day/year order of the printed date is controlled by the preference setting for Date Order.

The print code “&D”, placed in a Microsoft Project header, footer, or legend, is used to cause the current system date to be printed in place of the code. The format in which this date is printed is controlled by two preference settings: Date Order and Date Separator. To view or edit these preference settings, choose Preferences from the Options menu.

MORE INFORMATION

This date is always printed in the format “x/x/x”, where the “/” represents the Date Separator option specified in the Preferences list. The month/day/year order of the printed date is controlled by the preference setting for Date Order, in the same list.

NOTE: The Preference setting for Date Format has no effect on the format of this printed date.

Example

To see how this feature works, do the following:

1. From the Options menu, choose Preferences. Set the Date Separator character to “+”, and the Date Order to “year/month/day” and choose OK.
2. From the View menu, choose Gantt Chart.
3. From the File menu, choose Page Setup. In the header field, enter “Print date: &D”, and choose OK.
4. From the File menu, choose Print or Print Preview.

This header displays the current system date as “y+m+d”. For instance, if the current system date is June 24, 1993, the date in the header appears as “93+6+24”.
