SYMPTOMS

An application that uses DB-Library (DB-Lib) cursors encounters the DB-Lib error message 10000 “Unable to allocate sufficient memory” after running for a significant amount of time.

CAUSE

DB-Library incorrectly fails to free 4 bytes of memory after each call to the dbcursorfetch function.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in DB-Library version 4.20.00. This problem was corrected in DB-Library version 4.21.02. For more information, please contact your primary support provider.
