WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 2.0c - Microsoft Windows operating system versions 3.0 and 3.1

Summary:

Parts of a graphic from CorelDRAW 2.0 or 2.1 may be missing when you copy the graphic into Word using the Clipboard. This problem occurs because CorelDRAW versions 2.0 and 2.1 are not 100-percent-OLE/DDE compatible.

Although the screen image may appear incomplete, the picture should print correctly to a non-PostScript printer.

Workarounds

There are two workarounds you can use to avoid this problem:

  • Upgrade to CorelDRAW version 3.0b2. This version of CorelDRAW supports OLE/DDE. Bring the drawing into CorelDRAW 3.0b2 and then cut and paste it back into Word.

-or-

  • Save the drawing in a different graphic format, then import it into Word. The following are some formats you can use when saving from CorelDRAW to import into Word:

WMF - Windows Metafile PCX - PC Paintbrush picture BMP - Bitmap Picture TIFF - Tagged Image File Format (must have version 3.0b2) EPS - Encapsulated PostScript (must have version 3.0b2)

Note: You must print to a PostScript printer to correctly
print graphics in the EPS format.

CorelDRAW is manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product’s performance or reliability.
