Article ID: Q100144
Creation Date: 16-JUN-1993
Revision Date: 19-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 7.0

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

When you have a form open, the Show All Records command on the Records menu is not available.

CAUSE

There are three possible causes for this behavior:

  • The form's AllowFilters property is set to No.
  • The form is not bound to a table or query.
  • The form is a subform whose main form meets one of the above criteria.

RESOLUTION

Set the form's AllowFilters property to Yes, or bind the main form to a table or query by adding that table or query to the form's RecordSource property.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION
