MS-DOS 1.25 is a version of MS-DOS, released in 1982-08. It was the first version licensed to OEMs beyond IBM or Seattle Computer Products[1] It only supported 5.25" 160 kB floppies and it doesn't support folders (all files are located in the root directory). The command interperter, COMMAND.COM, supported the following commands commands:

  • DIR
  • TYPE
  • COPY
  • ERASE
  • RENAME
  • PAUSE
  • REM

The source code for this version was released on 25 March 2014 by Microsoft and the Computer History Museum, along with a note from Tim Paterson from December 2013.
