Criticism

Due to the fact that Internet Explorer 6 has very poor support for Web Standards, and has been shipped with Windows XP, which is still the most widely used operating system (as of April 2011) so far, Web Developers have often criticized Microsoft and the Internet Explorer Development Team for making such a terrible web browser.

NepTune

Internet Explorer 6 was planned to be released along with Windows Neptune, but was released with Windows XP, as the program was scrapped. It is not able to be installed on Neptune build 5111. If forced, it breaks the login screen.

Internet Explorer 6.05

Internet Explorer 6.05.4053, running on Longhorn 4053.main

Internet Explorer 6.05 came installed with pre-reset Longhorn builds. Internet Explorer 6.05 has went through many changes throughout Longhorn development. It contained download manager (however broken in a lot of builds). In later builds the GUI was integrated with the new extended title bar (same way as Explorer's windows) and allowed extended AERO as well.
