Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo: Combat Evolved is a first person shooter video game that served as one of the Xbox's launch titles in 2001. The project (which began in 1997) saw a range of gameplay styles starting from an RTS, to a TPS and finally to an FPS. Halo was first announced at Mac World in 1999 showcasing the graphical power of the Macintosh and OpenGL and was slated for a simultaneous release on the PC and Macintosh. A year later, at E3 2000, Microsoft was looking for developers for it's then announced Xbox platform. Bungie was acquired by Microsoft, and Halo was then developed as a launch title for the Xbox.
